Art under the sun in Marbella

The trendy gallery is owned and managed by Dutch art experts Joris Marjot and Loni Olfers, and is a relative newcomer to the culture scene in Marbella, having opened in December 2011. Since then the arty duo have been busying themselves raising the cultural and artistic game in Marbella, with a view to putting the town on the map as a high calibre destination for international art lovers. The latest eye-opening exhibition to grace the walls of the popular gallery is called ‘A Private View’ and features British female nude photographer Julia Martinez. Continue reading

Art Attack in Estepona

It’s out of the box thinking that could put Estepona on the map as a cultural destination in its own right. For while Granada is known for its street graffiti and Bristol is famous for the works of the celebrated artist Banksy, Estepona is hoping to attract a new sort of tourist with some impressive highbrow artwork. Over the past few months a number of large, colourful murals have sprung up in different neighbourhoods around town. Pride of Marbella Awards

It’s set to be one of the biggest and glitziest events of this year’s social calendar in Marbella. Called the Pride of Marbella Awards, this exclusive red carpet night will see a number of unsung heroes and heroines presented with awards for their hard work and selfless volunteering in their communities along the Costa del Sol. Hundreds are expected to attend the ceremony that’s being held at Funny Beach to the east of Marbella on September 21st. Continue reading
