Marbella is well known for its beautiful coastline and similar ratings were awarded last year, earning Marbella’s beaches blue flags for quality. The Ministry of Health tested the beaches of Artola, Las Chapas, Los Monteros, El Cable-Rio Real, Venus-Bajadilla, La Fontanilla-Faro, Nagueles, Nuerva Andalucia, Puerto Banus, Guadalmina-San Pedro Alcantara and El Faro. Marbella Councillor for the Environment Antonio Espada made the announcement of the rating for Marbella and the continuation of blue flag beaches for the town. The comprehensive testing has found Marbella to have excellent quality beaches, which is good news as the holiday season gets underway.
2014 is expected to be an equally busy year with high tourist figures, especially at peak season. The Marbella town is a desirable location for those looking for luxury holidays and many wealthy tourists choose to visit. With plans for a private heliport close to Marbella being put into motion too, the area is expecting to be even more popular with tourists, property investors and buyers.
Marbella, as a property destination, has many high-end and luxury properties and is one of Spain’s most popular property markets. The Spanish property market as a whole is proving popular with international buyers, particularly with the success of the ‘Golden Visa’ scheme. The government scheme offers residency permits for those purchasing property over the value of €500,000. Russian and Chinese buyers have shown particular interest in Spain and locations such as Marbella.
